Reddit accounts

Manage multiple Reddit accounts with separate browser profiles

Reddit is built around communities, and people who look after more than one often need a clean separation: the brand’s account, the community manager’s own account, and an account used only for moderation.

Who runs several Reddit accounts

  • Community managers for brands and projects
  • Moderators who look after several communities
  • Teams that keep a work account apart from a personal one

What goes wrong in a single browser

A normal browser keeps one set of cookies and one device identity for everything you open in it. Reddit shows your account name next to everything you write. In one browser it is easy to reply from the wrong account, and a saved login can stay signed in when you meant to switch.

Our beginner’s guide to managing multiple accounts explains the problem in more detail.

How VANE keeps your Reddit accounts apart

One profile per account

Each Reddit account lives in its own profile, with its own cookies and storage. Nothing is shared between profiles.

Its own network address

Give a profile its own HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy and test it before you open the browser.

Details that agree

Time zone and language follow the profile’s country, so the address, the clock and the language tell the same story.

Set up once, reopen any time

A profile keeps its cookies and settings between sessions. You open it and carry on.

Check Reddit’s rules first

Whether you may run more than one Reddit account, and how, is set by Reddit, not by your browser. Read Reddit’s User Agreement before you start, and follow them. Breaking a platform’s rules can lead to accounts being closed, whatever tool you use.

Reddit lets moderators be added to a community under their own accounts, so a shared login is not needed.

Questions about Reddit and VANE

Can I use more than one Reddit account?

That depends on Reddit’s own rules, which can change. Read its terms and policies before you open or manage more than one account, and follow them. VANE is a browser: it keeps your accounts organised and separate, and it does not change what Reddit allows.

Does VANE log in to Reddit for me?

No. VANE is a browser. You sign in yourself, in a profile of your own, and the cookies stay in that profile.

Do I need a separate proxy for each Reddit profile?

If you do not want accounts linked by network address, give each profile its own address, in the region that matches the account, and check your proxy provider’s rules too. Our guide to SOCKS5 and HTTP proxies explains the options.

How can I check a profile before I use it for Reddit?

Run it through free test pages for fingerprint, WebRTC and DNS leaks. Our guides explain what each test shows and how to read it.
